Watching our House Finches build their Nest
Each year a family of house finches builds a nest and raises their young in an inaccessible spot on top of an outside speaker on our deck. 
This year I decided to watch them through an inexpensive little “spy cam” build from and old webcam and a Raspberry Pi single board computer. The cam takes photos after being motion-triggered and stores them for later processing into a time-lapse movie. Here is an example. And here is how I built the cam (documented in the computing pages).
